Real estate search trivia

In case you missed it, Google Trends launched last week. Not only does it let you see how often search terms are being entered on Google, but it lets you compare searches. It was fun to play with some terms and compare them in relation to real estate. For example:
- The Seattle Seahawks beat Zillow — at least during the Super Bowl weekend before we launched
- Australians seem to be more obsessed with real estate than Americans
- People in Florida are most interested in home insurance
As you can see, you can spend hours playing with this. Let me know if you find more interesting real estate trivia!

I’m just guessing, but I think the reason Australian’s may be more “obsessed” with the real estate search than U.S. buyers is that all homes there are sold by auction. You have about a 45-minute window to “inspect” the home and then there’s a pre-set auction for the property on a certain date. No keyboxes, no private showings and no leisurely Sunday afternoon Open Houses…. it’s probably a frazzling way to make a major purchase!

Sorry for putting this here. I am just hoping someone will be able to answer if this is possible now, or soon will be:
I would love to be able to save several properties to a favorites style list, then have only those properties show up on the map. It would also be useful to be able to compare them in list form on a favorites page.

No, you can’t, but that’s a great suggestion. I’m throwing it in the hopper.
