We are very excited to announce today a partnership with Yahoo! Real Estate and Yahoo! Search that will expose Zestimates and comparable homes to a much broader audience searching for information on home values.

Yahoo! Search users who search for “home values” and other home value related search terms will be prompted with a Yahoo! Shortcut asking them to enter any U.S. address. That will bring up instant information from Zillow’s database of nearly 67 million U.S. homes. Yahoo! users can access current home Zestimates, historical value trends, view locations on a map and see comparable homes in the area.

You can also find this information in Yahoo! Real Estate by clicking “What’s My Home Worth?” and entering an address just like you would at Zillow.com.

It’s our mission to give as many consumers as possible access to free real estate information – whether they are homeowners checking on the value of their largest investment, or buyers and sellers in the market right now. Check out Zestimates on Yahoo! and let us know what you think!

Yahoo brings Zillow to the mainstream

Earlier this year Zillow, an online real estate service that combines maps with estimated home values launched. It shook up the once stagnant online real estate industry and opened the doors for a few others to follow, notably Redfin and Trulia.

The address of my house is incorrect, how do I get this fixed. My address shows a house on a different street a few block away.

Thanks, love the service you provide.

Smart move Yahoo. The public now more than ever needs to keep an eye on their market value, especially after the Refi frenzie. Now the lookers can look without wasting agents time on getting home value info and the sellers can get a realistic look at their home value which might save the agent from breaking their heart by delivering that depreciation bad news to them. There are plenty of homes for sale, agents need to consider getting that property up front in their advertising and consider pro photography & virtual tours are real effective here in the Phoenix metro area including Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, Ahwatukee

“Guess-Idiots” at Zillow use outdated public records to formulate real estate valuations. They call those wild calculations - Zestimates. I thinks it’s best to use a trained professional appraiser.

Ya know… there are many different sites doing the same type of thing. If you’re ok with an agent coming to your home you can use other sites and get your home valued for absolutely free. Just google home value and you’ll see a lot of other options, too.

    I don’t know… http://www.getmyhomesvalue.com seems a bit too easy… where’s the catch?

  13. Danielle on February 28, 2008 6:43 am

Um, I think Home Value Alternative kinda stated the catch - it involves a real estate agent.

If you consider that a catch. I used a similar site before. An agent got me an accurate CMA for my home. Of course they want you to become their client, but the agent helped me respected the fact that I wasn’t ready to do anything yet.

At most I get an occasional email and mailing from the agent - and actually, that’s okay with me, because I’ve gotten some good info from it.

If you’re scared of agents, sites like GetMyHomesValue.com may not be your best bet. But I’m thinking the only place to get an accurate estimate on your home WITHOUT paying for it IS a real estate agent.

To get an accurate value of your home your best bet is too seek out a qualified Real Estate professional who knows the city or town and the comparable sales very well. Zillow and other sites like it may be able to provide the consumer with some details about a property but the zestimate is almost always way off…at least here in my area of Massachusetts.

Panama real estate is exploding. We’re the #1 real estate market in this hemisphere.

Yahoo, how about expanding down here to Panama? You’re an international site, how about getting into international real estate?
