Zillow Powers Iframes and Blog Widget

By: Mark Eamer, Director, Online Marketing | June 26, 2007 |

We are very excited to announce the completion of two more products from our developer community that take advantage of Zillow’s API Network;  1) iframable sites - one for home valuations and the other for comparables and  2) Zillow’s first Web site module. Both of these tools will make it easy for publishers to integrate Zillow’s content onto their Web pages, even if they have virtually no coding experience. A bit more about these new offerings:

Zillow’s iFrameable Site is an easy and free way to frame a lightweight version of Zillow and offer your users Home Valuations and Home Comparables functionality. Although framing www.zillow.com is against our Terms of Use, our partner Eferi software found a creative solution to build two frameable sites that meet our branding requirements. As a result, it gives publishers the ability to easily integrate Zillow functionality within their site. All we ask is that you do not manipulate the frameable site in any way. In order for this to work, links to Zillow.com need to open up in a separate browser window. Visit our partners at Eferi software to implement Zillow’s home Valuations Frame or the Home Comparables Frame. Please remember you will be asked to sign up for an API key back on Zillow in order to make your framed site unique.

Zillow’s Web site Module provides your users with a home valuation application that is embedded into your Web site or blog. It includes Zestimates on more than 53 million homes in the U.S., value ranges, and charts. By simply cutting and pasting the HTML provided you can have Zillow functionality up and running on your Web site within a few minutes — for free. This is a great widget to put on the sidebar of your blog to let users to get instant Zestimates without leaving your site. The application was created within our developer community by Eferi software and currently they are hosting it on their domain. Please remember you will be asked to sign up for an API key back on Zillow in order to make your Web site module work. Visit our partners at Eferi software here to download the code.

Update: A working version of the blog "widget" can be seen HERE

A couple things to note -
The Comparable I-Frame Example link doesn’t currently work, it should be fixed soon though.

This widget will only work on services that accept javascript — so if you have a hosted blog on wordpress.com, you won’t be able to use this widget. If you have wordpress blog hosted on your own server, you’ll need to enter the code into the sidebar or an actual page.

You can see a working version of the widget here: http://www.carnivalofrealestate.com/blog-widgets/
