Zillow Polls - What do YOU Think?
By: Drew Meyers, Business Development Specialist | July 12, 2007
Ah, polls. Some poll questions are as insipid as the classic “Bridge of Death” scene in Monty Python’s Holy Grail movie (e.g., “Question: What’s Your Favorite Color? Answer: “Blue. No yell… Auuuuuuuugh!” … as the poor bloke gets thrown over the edge for waffling too much on the answer).
We now have polls on Zillow and I can assure you — you will not be thrown over the edge with a wrong answer. Whether it’s “If I had $40K to fix my house, I would do a…” or “If you could choose any city to live in for a year, which one would you choose?,” you can now share your opinion on Zillow with our new poll feature. Not only that, but you can ask the opinion of other Zillow visitors. As long as you are registered on Zillow, you are free to suggest a poll (or two or three) to be displayed on Zillow at either the national or local (ZIP code) level. Having a fight with your buddy about which bar has the best happy hour in your neighborhood? Or perhaps you can’t decide what color to paint your house. Suggest a poll and learn what the popular opinion might be.
You will see polls pop up while browsing around Zillow Discussions or City and Neighborhood Pages. They’re pretty easy to answer and we don’t have a bridgekeeper who will toss you over the edge in case you waffle. Happy polling.

THIS WEBSITE IS UNORGANIZED AND INACCURATE!!! SEARCHES ARE ALWAYS WRONG AND GIVE YOU AREAS YOU DO NOT SEARCH FOR. YOUR ADVERISING OF THIS WEBSITE IS VERY MISLEADING!

Whoever does your Zestimate is all over the place. I was not very happy with mine. Maybe you could explain, if I did something wrong. I wonder when I look at other houses in my area, why there house sold for more. This gives the wrong impression to anyone looking. I had a buyer that was willing to pay what I was asking. Then they looked at your website, and they offered me alot less. I don’t see how this site can help anyone.

Dear Lou:
You had a buyer who was willing to pay X until he saw the Zestimate, then the deal fell through? If you have not seen an attorney, I suggest you do so.

1. have you thought about adding the number of days that a house had been in market. I have not seen that information on ANY of the realtor’s web site. this information can be a very powerful tool for the buyers which real estate industry would not want to give away this information. what do you think. please let me know.
2. you guys in zillow software and putting the pages together; you must, MUST have to do a better job. the information are not very accurate, it is not user friendly, for one little change, we have to start all over again and takes for ever to look ath information. if any of you interested, i can give specefic examples too. it is a great eduacational web site, but i an start using a little less becasue of all of these problems. any hope to improve, please let me know too.

Randi -
Sorry you haven’t had a GREAT experience. Where are you searching?

I’m sorry to hear that. Low-ball offers are nothing new to the Real Estate game, especially in the current market. Is your home posted for sale on Zillow? If not, please consider doing so - not only will it draw more attention to your listing but it also sends a clear message to the lowball’ers that they can’t surprise you by mentioning Zillow.

1. “Days on Zillow” is there already - though we can’t know if the house was previously advertised elsewhere.
2. Thanks for your feedback - it would help to know what features you’re battling with.
