Zillow Open House Recap
By: Drew Meyers, Business Development Specialist | September 19, 2008
Looking up at Zillow Headquarters, courtesy of our Director of Test Randy James.
Last night, Zillow welcomed about 100 people to our 1st “Zillow Open House” hosted here at Zillow headquarters in the Wells Fargo Center to give them a peak into life at Zillow and offer the opportunity to speak with Zillow employees. We put together three different hour-long sessions to help our guests learn how to get more out of Zilow — “Zillow 101” led by Amy Bohutinsky, lessons learned from Zillow Mortgage Marketplace led by David Gibbons, and a presentation by Sara Bonert talking about how to make the most out of Zillow as a real estate professional. Following our breakout sessions, we took an office tour and proceeded to the Waterfront Seafood Grill at Pier 70 for cocktails and appetizers and a night of great conversations with lenders, agents, brokers, and a few investors.
Zillow is blessed to have such a fabulous group of passionate supporters. With our team heads down cranking out new products and features, we sometimes don’t realize that there are many people who visit our site religiously, all of whom appreciate getting face time with the team here who has worked tirelessly for 3 years to build a vibrant real estate community. The event started about 3:00 PM at Zillow’s offices and didn’t end up commencing until around 11:15 when the last man standing (I bailed about 11:00) caught a cab home. This event was an experiment, but with the great turnout and feedback, we’d certainly like to do Zillow Open Houses in other cities at some point (I can’t promise anything, but please leave a comment with your city name if you’re interested in having a Zillow event in your area).
Here are a few pictures that help tell the story better than words:

Thank you to everyone who came and made it such a wonderful event!

Zillow team,
You are all great! It was a pleasure meeting all of you, Drew, Eric, Macy, Spencer and so sorry just can’t remember everyone’s names. It was refreshing that you took the time to open your company up to agents and lenders, both as an educational process and a wonderful social event. Kevin and I loved it that you have embraced the NW culture.
We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership. We also meant it when we invited you to uses the Kayaks.
You know who I mean.
Cheers to your continued success.
Linda & Kevin
