What 118 million rubles will buy you
By: Spencer Rascoff, COO | December 14, 2006
I live very near the Russian Consulate in Seattle. It’s a beautiful building, with an imposing gate and a Russian flag proudly flying from the portico.
The property doesn’t appear in the Zillow database because we don’t display government-owned homes, but I can see from the county records that the Russian government bought the palatial property in 1994 for $1.1 million. Although we don’t have a formal Zestimate on this property, I asked Dr. Stan Humphries (our chief zestimator) to take a look at it and he pegs it at about $4.5 million, which is about 118 million rubles. I wonder what Russia’s Make Me Move price is for the consulate — they can add the property to the database and upload a Make Me Move price….
Maybe for a mere 150 million rubles it could be yours!
