Welcome Pubsub Bloggers
By: David Gibbons, Director of Community Relations | June 12, 2006
For the past few days, Pubsub’s Real Estate List has been the biggest referrer of readers to this blog (excluding Google and Zillow.com). When I clicked over to see what the fuss was about, I noticed that we were ranked 3rd on Saturday and 5th on Sunday in Pubsub’s daily blog ranking. Welcome Pubsub readers to Zillow Blog.
A few of the notable blogs listed at Pubsub that were new to me are; Brownstoner (Brooklyn Inside and out), Luxist: Estates who is featuring Martin Scorsese’s for-sale townhouse and Counter Intelligence: The Real Estate Café Weblog. One of my favorite Real Estate bloggers, Dan Melson isn’t on this list; it’s not comprehensive but it is a good start if you are looking to add to the list of Real Estate bloggers you read.
Unlike technology blogs, I’ve found that there aren’t many good aggregators of Real Estate blogs. Another problem is that typing “Real Estate” into a blog search engine like technorati brings up more noise than good content. So, my question to you is where do you find the best Real Estate blog posts? Are there other lists of Real Estate blogs that I should be reading? Who is your favorite Real Estate blogger?

Stick with the technology blogs, you aren’t real estate and never will be!

Hey Zillow folks. I’m trying to bring our interactiev floor plan software to the attention of the right people at your company. I did send a personal letter to Rich Barton but thought this approach might work as well.
What Icovia does best for sites like Zillow is convert traffic that is already at the website into registered, profiled prospects. Icovia engages the consumer with interactive floor plans, assists them in confirming the property meets their living needs through design features like drag and drop furniture, and prompts them to register in order to save, print and email the design. A reporting tool provides agents with immediate alerts and the contact information of the interested buyer and what listings they worked with.
It is a powerful way for Real Estate professionals to uniquely generate qualified leads from their own web traffic.
Consider what one of our newest client’s had to say about Icovia:
“A key consideration for customers when selecting a house is room size and space. Icovia by far has the most innovative and compelling space-planning product we have seen,” said Marvin Mauer, President of Houseplans, Inc. “Our customers will be able to use this tool to position furniture icons within floor plans that they can then preview in order to evaluate how the overall house fits their needs. By providing customers with a space-planning tool they can easily and quickly make decisions on choosing and purchasing house plans. It is another way for us to help them make their dream home a reality. We’re excited to offer an innovative and exceptional service that will benefit our customers.”
Icovia is incredibly easy to implement and very affordable. As an Icovia customer you receive a private-labeled planner with no limit to the number of properties or listings you can have in Icovia. Most importantly you receive a reporting tool that you can access at anytime to see who is using your planner, what properties they are looking at and what their contact information is.
Adding plans to Icovia is as easy as tracing directly in Icovia, having your own service providers add the plans or we can create them for you. Adding Icovia to your website is as simple as adding a link.
You can view a demo of the pilot version by clicking on the TRY FREE button from this page: http://www.icovia.com/realestate/
By the SFConnect conference in July a major upgrade to Icovia Real Estate Edition will be available to current customers and available to everyone by the NAR conference in November.
Sorry for the long sales pitch email but I’m trying everything I can to get the attention of the right person at Zillow.
Sincerely,
Steve Street
