One key life lesson I’ve learned as a student at the University of Washington is that in order to succeed, you must make yourself heard. Speak up. Raise your hand. Ask a question. Trip down the stairs in a 500+ person lecture hall while carrying your morning latte… whatever it takes. With over 25,000 undergraduates barking for attention at the UW, it’s nearly impossible to earn an A or snag a letter of rec just waiting around for the professor to notice you.
I’d like to apply the same theory of vocal self promotion to real estate. There are thousands of homes in your neighborhood sitting for sale with a sign staked into the yard, waiting for someone to call on them. As a motivated seller looking to move your home to the top of the class, you need to differentiate yourself quickly and efficiently. To support my thesis, I wish to cite this weeks #1 home in Sammamish, WA. The comfortable abode, situated in one of CNN Money’s Top 100 Places to Live, increased from 1 page view to 189 views after posting. Similar success stories take place every week, including #2 in Foster City, CA and #3 in Saratoga, CA , both selling for over $1.5 million with over 100 new page views! Regardless of your price point, posting for sale on Zillow is a great way to attract the attention of potential buyers.
Whether you’re aiming for Dean’s List honor roll or a quick 30 day closing, be aggressive and confident in marketing your greatest assets.
