Tiger’s house

UPDATE (March 20): Reports are now surfacing that Tiger did not buy this home. Here’s the latest rundown:

NY Post reported he did
Golf.com reported he did not
LI BusinessNews reported he did
Big Time Listings is in the middle

So, did he or didn’t he? Everyone bought into the NY Post article — and the NYP stands by its story — despite denials left and right by Tiger’s people. Stay tuned…

****

Professional golfer Tiger Woods kept an incredible pace this week — as only Tiger can do — by sinking a 24-foot putt on the 18th hole in a come-from-behind win in the Arnold Palmer Invitational last weekend. Somewhere in between, Tiger, who is speculated to become the first billion-dollar athlete by 2010, reportedly sealed a deal to buy a magnificent 13,200-square-foot mansion on the quaintly named Gin Lane in Southampton that was listed for $65 million dollars.

If the sale price does come in higher than $58 million, it will be the highest-priced “single-parcel” property sale ever in the Hamptons. Tiger’s the one guy out of 4 who scoffs at the word recession.

Crazy to see some of these new purchases going on. We have our fair share here in the Santa Barara CA area. If you can afford these homes, recession is not much of a worry.

As far as the 3 out of 4 thinking we are in a recession…these people simply are in the know and probably read news beyond the US. We are in a recession…we just don’t like to say it here stateside. Look outside of the US for your news and you will see papers reporting that the US has been in a recession for months.
