Squeeze in, Everybody and Get Ready for 300,000,000

By next week, the 300-millionth person will have been born in the USA. Or, at least that’s the calculation the U.S. Census Bureau is putting out there on this little dynamic counter that clicks off our growing population. Their stats show one person is born every 7 seconds and one person dies every 13 seconds. When you figure in one international migrant every 31 seconds, the net result is one person is added to the U.S. every 11 seconds. Every 11 seconds! It will be interesting to see if they (whoever the proverbial "they" is), will be able to pinpoint who the 300th-million person is in the U.S. Will balloons come down from the sky? Will sirens go off? Will that person get a new car? Maybe a new house?
