“R2(30)” Mystery Solved!
By: Spencer Rascoff, COO | October 2, 2008
By now you probably think that I solely obsess about street signs in Madison Park, Seattle. I’ve blogged about the “Scary White Dot” on my front lawn, and the Scary White Dot redux. I’ve also spent too much time thinking about the new radar MPH street sign across the street. I was a little afraid that yet another post about this would confirm your suspicion that I’m obsessive. After all, one person had already commented that “I think your [sic] a little crazy” because of my previous rants on the subject. Nonetheless,I had to let you know that the mystery has been solved.
Apparently “R230” means “install a big 30 MPH street sign in front of Spencer’s house”.
Overall, I’m pleased that traffic in front of my house will now be slower. But I’m pretty frustrated that the City doesn’t remove their own graffiti markings after they install a street sign. Now that I’m more aware of it, I’ve noticed spray painted markings on sidewalks all over the city and it’s hideous (though admittedly I hadn’t really noticed it before). Still, like my first grade teacher Ms. Ring taught me: if you make a mess, you have to clean it up. Since that’s unlikely though, I’ll be out in front of my house this weekend scrubbing the sidewalk.

Spencer,
I find the thought of you spending your weekend scrubbing the sidewalk a little strange - it sounds like you might be a little OCD - however I have enjoyed this suspense filled series!
