If These Walls Could Talk, Part II
By: Diane Tuman Content Manager | June 28, 2006
This past May, we did a post "If These Walls Could Talk," which dealt with buying or selling a home in which a death — even a murder or suicide — may have taken place. Is it creepy to live there? Does the value of the home suffer? Today, I received an e-mail from a friend of a friend who works at Weekend America public radio and they’re casting a net for people who have "had experiences," you might say. Here’s the pitch:
- Are you currently selling your house or condo? If so, are you debating — internally or with your spouse — how much to tell a prospective home-buyer about the "quirks" of that house? (Was there a murder or a robbery in the house? Can you hear every time the neighbor’s toilet flushes?)
- Alternately, are you currently debating whether to buy a house that you’ve discovered has a disturbing "quirk" or spooky past?
