Happy Birthday Zillow!
By: Spencer Rascoff, COO | February 8, 2007

We have our birthday hats on today here at Zillow HQ in downtown Seattle: our little company is now one year old. It seems like just yesterday that we launched the site, but we’ve come a long way in this past year. Check our our recently added Zillow Timeline to see how much has happened! In dog years, we’re now seven. In Internet years, I think we’re even older than that.
One of my favorite company taglines is the slogan that JetBlue puts up on their in-flight TV screens: “Without You, we’d just be flying a bunch of TVs around the country.” Well without YOU — the Zillow community — we’d just be talking to ourselves. And that wouldn’t be nearly as much fun.
Thank you for being a part of our first year — it has certainly been a whirlwind and we’ve heard some great feedback about what you want us to improve, add or do next. We can’t wait to show you some of the exciting stuff we have in store for year two!

Absolutely - congrats from the bottom of my heart! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your services and what you’ve done for the entire industry. In fact, because your site has piqued my interest so much, I’m seriously considering a career change from IT to real estate by the end of the year. I wish you all the best of luck and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Zillow has given real estate reporters, writers and bloggers a raison d’etre. Love you or hate you, it’s galvanized the real estate industry and has been a call-to-arms for many. Welcome to the fray!
