Agents: How to Advertise on Zillow.com
By: Jeff Somers, Director, Agent Services | January 8, 2007
We’ve talked a lot about our advertising model, but to date the kind of advertising for sale on Zillow.com pretty much consisted of banner ads suited to a large brokerage or company.
We are happy to announce that this will soon change. Today at Real Estate Connect NY, Zillow president Lloyd Frink talked about a new advertising product coming during the first quarter of this year, one that allows agents and other real individual estate professionals to buy inexpensive, targeted advertising on the site.
We’re calling it EZ Ads – and it’s pretty simple – an easy, online way for individual agents and other real estate professionals to buy and customize ads on Zillow.com, targeted to specific searched ZIP codes. The ads show up on ZIP code-specific areas throughout the site, including map pages and home detail pages.
With millions of people visiting Zillow each month, most being homeowners (86% of Zillow users own a home) plus buyers and sellers (54% plan to buy/sell in the near future), EZ Ads will be a lot more targeted than a flyer or traditional offline advertising. And we think you will find pricing a lot more affordable, too. When creating your ads, you can choose the ZIP code, what your ads will look like and where your ads will link to.
We’re aiming to roll out EZ Ads by the end of March; if you’d like to be the first to hear when EZ Ads launch, you can register and sign up for email alerts.
And, don’t forget, it’s FREE to post homes for sale on Zillow any time, and link back to your home page, your MLS listing, virtual tour or other homes you represent. EZ Ads are simply another way for you to gain exposure to Zillow’s audience of owners, buyers and sellers.

Glad to hear you’ll be offering a product that is practical for local businesses. I can’t wait to see the details and pricing. Perhaps, we’ll now be able to get someone from Zillow to respond to our advertising inquiry. Two submissions and zero responses thus far has been disappointing.

Craig-
Thanks for the support- I think you’re going to like what you see. I’m sorry that no one has responded to your advertising inquiry. I have sent your contact info along to Scott Huber on our ad sales team so that he can follow up with you (though my hunch is that you may want to wait for EZ Ads before moving forward).

Please check the city records, asap.
The house has been thoroughly remodeled, kitchen & existent bath, has had the ceiling removed & vaulted, & it’s had a bathroom added, which by real estate rules adds,by it’s self $50,000.
Your website has become a guide for most consumers.
Due to the lack of information, my home is being rated a lot less then it’s worth.
Once again, please adjust the information & recalculate the worth of my home.
Thank you, so much.

Yes, please check the city/county records in all areas. In our area homes are going for $207,000 and up. Any new info will not show home owners impovements since county appraisals do not happen every year. And the taxes are way off.
This really hurts sellers trying to sell their home. If it can’t be updated than remove that info from your website please.
Thank You.

Good concept, and may my buyers are using Zestimate as a basis. My house and house on both sides are similar model/sqft/builder etc. But my house is listed 410k, one neighbor as 447k and other one has 480k. Truely speaking my house has lots of upgrades and but, I am having tough time selling and family has been going through lots of pain. MyEstimate is not of much help. The information provided is wrong. It shows 4 BATHROOM for all the houses nearby and NO BEDROOM! Any help appreciated.

I have a 6 month old Mac. I have tried to access Zillow to use the estimates and cannot. I have repeatedly downloaded the Firefox and Safari software that comes up when I try to access Zillow, but still cannot gain access to the listings. Am I doing something wrong, or shall I just give up on Zillow?
Thanks.
