Report: Tom Cruise Quietly Sells East Village Condo
Tom Cruise has quietly sold a condo in the American Felt building in New York City’s East Village, reported The Real Deal. The apartment, pictured above, was one of his first places and housed Cruise as well as ex-wives Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman. Reportedly Katie Holmes even spent time in the building.
No sentimental feelings for Cruise, however. He cut ties to the home this week, selling it without a real estate agent for around $3 million, and is reportedly looking for another Manhattan property — preferably one with a private garage.
The American Felt Building was constructed in 1984 — right at the beginning of Cruise’s career — and was named for the manufacturer that previously occupied the building and supplied felt for Steinway pianos.
Cruise’s apartment was on the small side for the actor, measuring just 2,200 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The New York unit has a third bedroom, currently converted to a state-of-the-art gym. The apartment is on the 10th floor of the 12-floor building.
The “Mission: Impossible” actor won’t be missing this place too much. Cruise owns a host of properties across the country, including a $30.5 million home in Beverly Hills.
Holmes, on the other hand, is currently renting a place in Chelsea.
