Lil Wayne Slapped With Citation for High Grass in New Orleans
Cut the grass. And the weeds.
That’s the message Lil Wayne’s been delivered for a house he owns in the Kenner real estate market of New Orleans. The house is listed for sale as “Celebrity Mansion” for $1.7 million that includes amenities like a gourmet kitchen, home theater, pool house and views of Lake Pontchartrain, but makes no mention of the flora and fauna.
According to the Times-Picayune, the rap star was cited sometime between Feb. 26 and March 2 for overgrowth at the 10,000-sq-ft home he bought in 2006 in the gated Place Pontchartrain subdivision.
The New Orleans native has long ago famously decamped to Miami, FL, where he hangs at a $14 million glass-walled home when he’s not on the road, which is often. However, his New Orleans roots remain a serious part of his persona, especially now that the talented Mr. Carter has teamed up with Mountain Dew to build a skate park in NOLA.
Word is that Lil Wayne is currently touring neighborhoods to choose a site for the skateboard park — part of an advertising/philanthropic/social responsibility endeavor. The rapper took up boarding big time, calling it a way to get kids out of the house, off the computers and into the streets for some physical activity and play time.
In the meantime, while he’s hyping up the New Orleans skate park, maybe Lil Wayne will find time to swing by the old house and hit it up with a mower and weed whacker.
