Chris Daughtry Lists North Carolina Home
While many rock n’ rollers claim New York or L.A. as their home base, American Idol Season 5 runner-up and Grammy-nominated singer Chris Daughtry has lived in North Carolina throughout his career in a home that’s now listed at a price well below the cost of most celebrity hideouts. Daughtry’s home is now listed on the Oak Ridge real estate market for $699,900.
Daughtry’s home has relative privacy; the lot sits on a gated drive in a newer neighborhood. Although Oak Ridge was only incorporated in 1998, the town has experienced remarkable growth and claims to be the fastest growing city in the county. Median Oak Ridge home values are currently $266,000, with a 2.4 percent increase quarter-over-quarter. Oak Ridge is located almost equidistant between Winston-Salem and Greensboro, with each city approximately 20 miles away.
Daughtry picked up the estate in 2006 for $690,000. According to property listings, the home first hit the market at $720,00 in late 2010 and was removed before it made a reappearance on the market with its new price tag.
The brick 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath home may be a little snug for Daughtry, his wife and four children, even though it boasts over 3,600 square feet of living space. Other amenities include a salt-water pool and spa, professional putting green — all on a 1.17-acre lake view lot. Inside, the home features walnut floors, decorative moldings, and gourmet kitchen with wood hood and center island.
The listing is held by Carley Mann of RE/MAX International.
