“Just Sold!” EZ Ads target sellers
By: Chloe Harford Director, Strategic Planning | June 25, 2007
I recently stumbled across some creative “Just Sold!” EZ Ads in Brooklyn. Ross Brownfeld, an associate broker with National Brokerage Real Estate, is using them to target home sellers. He realized lots of potential clients are using Zillow to get valuation and other detailed information before putting their homes on the market. In fact, 32% of Zillow users are planning to sell a home in the next 24 months.
Ross had been sending “Just Sold” postcards to homes near his recent listings. He had the idea of using EZ Ads to send “electronic postcards” to a similarly targeted area. How do they compare? “EZ Ads are a lot cheaper,” he said. For $30 his EZ Ads were shown 3,000 times to people looking at homes in the zips he selected. Compare that to the $800 he spent sending 1,500 postcards about the same listings. In other words a penny per “electronic postcard” versus 53 pennies per snail-mail card.
When we spoke he hadn’t had any response from the snail-mail cards, but a lot of people had been clicking his EZ Ads and looking at his profile. I hope Ross sees more results from EZ Ads and will consider spending $800 on electronic postcards next time!
We’d love to hear about other creative ways to use EZ Ads. If you haven’t experimented yet, create your own ad in just a few minutes here.
